Jennifer Lopez first post-split chat

Sighh. She shouldn't be talking about it. She has two kids, 3-year-olds Max and Emme, with the man she's just split up with (2 weeks ago). She should just zippit at least until it blows over a little bit and rumours of Marc Anthony's controlling ways swirl at least somewhat out of orbit. Totally zippit. Oh well, let's check out some snippets of Jennifer Lopez's interview with Vanity Fair.

On the demise of her third marriage (Marc Anthony's second) and her steadfast belief in love....

"That was my biggest dream, and I really worked hard at it. We both did.... Sometimes it doesn't work -- and that's sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love."

On loving again and bringing up babies....


"I am positive -- determined to move forward with my life, bring up my babies, and do the best job I can as a mother, entertainer, and person."

On self-love and leaving a marriage....

"Sometimes we don't realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself -- if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now.

On Marc....

"I will always respect Marc as a singer and performer.... We actually work great together, and he was always very supportive. Together we could make magic-—and we did. He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children."

I guess it's not so bad. But there are little quasi diplomatic hints in there that don't do much to dispel rumours.... ("Diplomatic" is my word of the day today, by the way. I've used it twice today and it's only 11:16am.)
