How Jennifer Garner lost the baby weight & how her kids stay fit (weights!)

Just five months after giving birth to her son Samuel, Jennifer Garner, 40, is out promoting The Odd Life of Timothy Green — and she's looking fabulous doing it!

"I was working out with my trainer this morning," Jennifer told People Magazine at the movie's LA premiere, "And she was like 'Yeah, I think it's time. I think we need to put some pleather on!'" And, as you can see in this photo (left), she did!

Jennifer's trainer is Valerie Waters, who's celeb clients also include Ben Affleck, Elizabeth Berkley, Kate Beckinsale and Bradley Cooper, among others.

Valerie attributes Jennifer's success to regular workouts both during and post pregnancy. According to her, Jennifer started working out as soon as four weeks after the baby arrived, but she began very gently. "The first couple workouts were 15 to 20 minutes," she tells People. And she's now working out for 40 minutes, three or four days a week — twice a week cardio, and lots of strength training throughout the week. Her diet includes organic whole foods, and she munches on easily accessible fruits and veggies when cravings strike.

What's more? Valerie's been training Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3! Well, sort of.... "We have tiny little weights for them, and they'll come in and lift them over their heads," Valerie tells People. "They're so cute and they definitely like to do what Mommy likes to do, for sure."
