Grammy Awards: Jennifer Lopez, Adele, Alicia Keys and other memorable moments

Did you watch the Grammy Awards last night?

I hate to say I was yawning a little throughout. The show was pretty uneventful after the relatively juicy Golden Globe and SAG Awards. Maybe it's because a mysterious "memo" was sent out asking invitees to cover up. But stars like Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry didn't listen. Check out THE LEG (left).

I try to stay positive here at Celebrity Candy, but I'm going to be honest: If you have to hold your clutch in front of your crotch so the camera doesn't see too much during your interview with Ryan Seacrest, your dress is probably not the most tasteful choice! I'm also so over the top-of-the-head bun. I think Jennifer's whole (or, well, half...) dress would have looked better if she'd gone with a softer, more natural hairstyle.

Whereas Jennifer Lopez didn't listen to the memo, new mom Adele sure did! This unfortunate vintage Valentino dress didn't get the most rave reviews (to put it gently)....

...But Adele wore the dress confidently. And she did look beautiful accepting her award for Best Pop Solo Performance!

Aside from these dresses, and mom-of-one Alicia Keys' amazing duet with Maroon 5 and Adam Levine (LOVE!), the show was, indeed,  relatively uneventful.

Hmm, come to think of it, new dad Elton John's duet with Ed Sheeran was pretty awesome, as was the Bob Marley tribute with Sting (who was beyond), Bruno Mars, Rihanna, et al. Justin Timberlake's music comeback was a bit meh — his talent is undeniable, but I'm not sure I like "old school" on him. Carrie Underwood was amazing, but that light circus on her dress was ridiculously distracting. Kelly Clarkson reminded us all why we love her — move over, Xtina Aguilera, there's a new voice in town. Wow...! And one of the best moments in the show was probably LL Cool J's Beastie Boys finale, but they cut that off at the end, alas!

Hmmm, but perhaps the best part of the show for me was staying off Twitter (for once) and IM'ing with my mom the whole time.

What did you think? What were the best moments of the show for you?

Love!
