Drew Barrymore

So many of our favourite former child stars are now parents. So I thought we'd take a trip down memory lane…

…Starting with one of the most famous and successful child stars of all — Drew Barrymore!

Drew rose to fame at the tender age of seven years old, when E.T. hit the big screen in 1982. And she was a household name by the time her next big film, Firestarter, debuted in 1984, when she was nine.

She's had continued success in her career through the years. And now she's a mom! The actress and her husband, Will Kopelman welcomed their first child, Olive, last September.

Claire Danes

Claire Danes is huge these days. Everyone's talking about her award-winning portrayal of a CIA agent with bipolar disorder, in Homeland. But we've been talking about her for years: as Angela Chase in the TV series My So-Called Life, which debuted in 1994 when she was 15 years old, and as Beth in the movie Little Women, which hit theatres that same year. Two years later, the movie Romeo + Juliet (with Leonardo DiCaprio) really catapulted her to fame.

Of course, now that Claire's a mom — she gave birth to her first child, Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy, with hubby Hugh Dancy last December — we can't stop talking about her!

Christian Bale

Did you know Oscar winner Christian Bale was only around 13 when he starred in Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun, in 1987.

These days he's best known for his role as the Caped Crusader in the Dark Knight movies — and at home, as dad to Emmeline Bale, 8, and husband to Sandra Blau017eiu0107.

Anna Paquin

Gosh, I still remember when Anna Paquin won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Piano when she was just 11 years old, in 1994, making her the second youngest actress ever to win the prestigious award.

Though she's had an illustrious career as a movie actress, she's best known these days for her role as Sookie Stackhouse on HBO's True Blood.

Anna's now a new mom… times two! She and her hubby, True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer, welcomed twins (who's names and sexes have not been revealed) last September.

Jodie Foster

Recently celebrated at this year's Golden Globe Awards for her fabulous, long career, Jodie Foster emerged on the scene when she was three years old, starring in various commercials, including the famous Coppertone ad. She later took on tons of TV shows, like The Addams Family and The Partridge Family.

Her first big movie gigs were Bugsy Malone and Taxi Driver, in 1976, when she was 13 years old.

In her Golden Globes speech, Jodie insinuated she'd be slowing down now that she's 50. But she won't be slowing down at home! She and her ex-partner, Cydney Bernard, have two sons Charles, 14, and Christopher, 11.

Ron Howard

The amazing actor/writer/director/producer Ron Howard began his legendary career when he appeared in the movie Frontier Woman with his parents at just 18 months old (in 1956)! He later made his mark on stage in a production of The Seven Year Itch at age two.

Ron became a household name when he starred as Opie on The Andy Griffith Show, from the age of six. A prolific TV and movie career ensued, and he went on to influence a generation of actors and movie-makers — including his famous daughter, actress Bryce Dallas Howard, 32, whose baby girl just turned one!

Ron and his wife Cheryl Alley have three other kids together: twins Jocelyn and Paige, 27, and a son, Reed, 25.

Sarah Michelle Gellar

BUFFY! I was addicted to this show throughout university and beyond. Sarah Michelle Gellar debuted as everyone's favourite vampire slayer on the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer when she was 19. At the time many of us already knew her as Kendall Hart from the soap opera All My Children — a role she took on at age 16.

These days Sarah is a busy mom of two. She and her hubby, actor Freddy Prinze Jr., are parents to Charlotte, 3.5, and new baby Rocky, who was born last September.

Fred Savage is probably best known for his role as Kevin Arnold in The Wonder Years. He was 12 when he landed the role, and he scored two Golden Globe and two Emmy nominations for it when he was 13 — making him the youngest actor nominated for these awards.

Of course, we can't forget his famous role as the grandson in The Princess Bride, at age 11. Love!

Fred has three kids with wife Jennifer Lynn Stone: Oliver Philip, 6.5, Lily Aerin, 4.5, and a new baby boy (no name yet!), who was born last November.
