Baby Legend is here!
It's a girl!
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend announced the arrival of their sweet baby girl today. Little Luna Simone Stephens arrived on Thursday and weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces. I love the name—I wonder if she's named after Nina Simone?
Both mom, dad and baby are doing well—very happy and very sleepy.
Baby Luna was actually in the breech position. Chrissy tweeted at the end of March that she was trying to get her baby girl to turn. Chrissy, you totally should have called us—we have some tips that could've helped. But you probably called BFF Kim Kardashian. Baby Saint was also breech and Kim tried ice, lying upside down and hypnosis to get Saint to turn, but in the end had a painful ECV. Hopefully little Luna turned on her own.
I'm sure Chrissy and John are very excited to welcome their little bundle of cuteness after struggling with infertility for five years. The couple did IVF and actually chose to implant the female embryo.
“I think I was most excited and allured by the fact that John would be the best father to a little girl. That excited me,” she says. “Just the thought of seeing him with a little girl. I think he deserves a little girl. I think he deserves that bond. A boy will come along.
I can already imagine John staring into his little girl's eyes—maybe she's inspiring a few songs.
At the end of March, Chrissy was feeling pretty optimistic about childbirth. We're gonna guess that in the end she found labour harder than installing a car seat.
