We have details, Gorgeouses. Details! And if you’re not sick of Beyonce-and-Jay-Z baby news, then check out the statement the superstar duo gave earlier today — confirming some details and dispelling rumours….
We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012…. Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful – we are in heaven…. She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs…. It was the best experience of both of our lives…. We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support. (qtd. in People)
Also dispelling rumours is the Executive Director of Lenox Hill Hospital, Frank Danza, who also released a statement today (in response to THIS story):
The suggestion that the couple paid $1.3 million to rent an entire maternity floor is simply not true…. The family is housed in an executive suite at the hospital and is being billed the standard rate for those accommodations. Our executive suites are available for any patient, including the food service and amenities provided to the Carter family…. We have made every effort to ensure minimal disruption to other families experiencing the births of their own children over the past three days…. No security plan that we or the Carters’ security team put in place would have prevented or delayed families from gaining access to the NICU, and to date, no families have complained to the hospital about being denied access to the NICU. (qtd. in People)
So much for the New York Post story and Coulon’s claims…. I suppose, as always, there are two sides to this story.
And I’m going to put my sceptic’s hat to rest and just be happy for the couple, WHO, by the way have purchased THIS $3500 “Lucite” crib. It really is stunning…. Jay-Z has even taken to SONG to celebrate Blue Ivy. Are you ready? It’s called “Glory, feat. B. I. C.” (Blue Ivy Carter), and he released the song earlier today (Monday) on his Life + Times site. In the song Jay-Z reveals that Beyonce suffered a “tragic” miscarriage before conceiving Blue, that they conceived Blue during their trip to Paris (photo above), and more. Have a listen — if you get to the end, you’ll hear Baby Blue crying!
So what do you think of the song, Gorgeouses?
