"Camden" isn't the most popular name, and now two celebrities in the last couple months have chosen it for their babies.
August 8, 2012: The Hills star Kristin Cavallari announces the birth of "Camden Jack Cutler."
September 13, 2012: Nick and Vanessa Lachey announce the birth of "Camden John Lachey."
September 13, 2012: Kristin Cavallari tweets, "Apparently Camden is a popular name!" And then clarifies, "By the way that wasn't a b**chy tweet at all...I obviously love the name and I'm glad other people do too."
Contrary to how it looks..., Nick and Vanessa say they were shouting the name Camden to the moon five or six months ago. So it seems Kristin Cavallari had nothing to do with their name choice.
“It’s kind of a funny story," Nick, 38, tells People Magazine. "I’ve always liked the name Colin. We thought that Colin would be the name. And John is my dad’s name."
“But as we got further into it," he adds, "I learned that Vanessa wasn’t a big fan of the name Colin, so we started looking for another ‘C’ name.”
As it turns out, Vanessa's obstetrician's office was located on Camden Drive, in Beverly Hills. So, one day Nick said, “Hey, what about Camden?” And there it is.
“We didn’t really know anyone else named Camden," he insists. "It was such a neat name. We fell in love with it and decided on it five or six months ago.” In other words, he's saying, we did not steal the name from Kristin Cavallari.
Hmmm..., SCANDAL! Just kidding. But if I were Kristin, I think I might be a little miffed that my celebrity peers announced their baby name just a month after I did and it was the same as mine. I mean, Drew Barrymore's baby may have the same name — Olive — as Isla Fisher's child. But Isla's kid is almost 5 already, so it's different. What do you think?
Love!
