There’s the newly engaged Angelina Jolie, 36, stepping out of the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood yesterday, flashing that brilliant smile and her brand new engagement ring to a swarm of paparazzi.
New deets on the ring have come in. So, checkit!
The ring was designed by Angelina’s fiancé, Brad Pitt (of course), 48, and Beverly Hills jeweler Robert Procop (who, incidentally, also designed Robert Downey Jr.’s “push present” to his wife Susan for the birth of their son Exton).
Brad and Robert apparently spent an entire year designing the six-carat emerald-cut diamond ring (the value of which is estimated anywhere between $250,000 and $500,000). “The creative journey took a year,” Robert said. “I located a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to suit Angelina’s hand.”
It’s a stunning ring, don’t you think, Gorgeouses? (And it’s tastefully not over-the-top like certain other celeb rings I can think of….) Here’s a close up:
“Brad had a specific vision for this ring,” Robert continued. “He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect…. [He] was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution. The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality.”
Once the ring was complete, Brad proposed to his girlfriend of 7 years in their home in LA, as People Magazine reported: “The duo spent the day at home together savouring the moment until their kids returned home from school.”
