Check out Angelina Jolie, a moody Shiloh (poor thing), Vivienne and Knox going shopping for Halloween costumes! (Plus, more Jolie-Pitt family news.)
Before we get into this, can I just tell you? I love Angelina Jolie. Whether you buy her acts or not, she goes out into the world and makes a difference, and from what I can tell, she doesn't do the whole Botox/filler thing (she does look her age), and she's always done whatever she wants — regardless of what the mainstream thinks (wearing a vial of her spouse's blood around her neck, yes, falls into that category).
I also admire the way she's kept relatively private. She probably had her people alert the paparazzi ahead of time that she'd be at this particular Halloween store at that particular time: She's dressed beautifully in a perfectly tailored little black dress and (what are becoming her trademark) nude flats, and she put that big smile on almost as soon as they left the store.
Other than such staged sightings, we only rarely see this famous family out and about.
So today we have half of the Jolie-Pitt family: Angelina, 37, her daughter Shiloh, 6, and twins, Vivienne and Knox, 4, and their bodyguard (aka shopping-bag carrier). The four of them took a trip to the Halloween Superstore in Sherman Oaks, California, over the weekend, and loaded up on Halloween costumes and loot.
Rumour has it Angelina will dress up as Morticia Addams this Halloween, and her fiancé, Brad Pitt, 48, will be Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre (eeeeeek!).
According to the UK's The Sun (who couldn't seem to get past Angelina's boney arms — leave her alone!), the Halloween Superstore manager said Angelina bought costumes for the kids: "A Robin costume, a Beaker the Scientist costume, a pony costume and a vampire costume," as well as "fake insects and creepy crawly things, makeup and decorations."
The pink costume Vivienne's wearing must be that pony costume the store manager was referring to. CUTE!
This rare family appearance comes on the heels of some big family news: Not only is Vivienne going to be in Angelina's new movie, Maleficent, but her kids Pax, 8, and Zahara, 7, will also be in the flick. Talk about FAMILY MOVIE! Apparently, Shiloh was supposed to be in it, but, according to a source for The Sun, "she was bored and not in the mood during the day her part was supposed to happen, so she ended up not being in the film."
Shiloh looks a bit moody in our pics today, too. Looks like Angelina truly does have a mini version of herself on her hands: Shiloh doesn't seem to dig mainstream stuff, has her own mind (dresses how she wants, cuts her hair short), and isn't afraid to show when she's not into something, like costume shopping, that she's expected to love.
And I can relate to that. My daughter is JUST like me, and it's not always fun to see. We bounce off each other, I imagine, like two negative ions. (Does that make sense, Chemists?) Since I've realized this, I've come to really appreciate our relationship and grow with her as she really illuminates parts of my own personality. It's quite fascinating. And it's very different with my son, who's just like his dad, and positive through and through. Maybe there's an article or blog post there....
DISCUSS: How about you? Are your children a lot like you?
LOVE!
