The most real postpartum photo ever

This is new motherhood.

We've all done it before: Scrolled through social media, looking at curated photos of new motherhood and thought, "Wow, way to be real." But sometimes one photo comes along that you can actually relate to. That's why one mother decided to share a postpartum photo of herself in a diaper. Yep, a diaper.

"I'm sharing this picture because it's real. This is motherhood; it's raw, stunning, messy, and freaking hilarious all rolled into one," writes Amanda Bacon on Facebook. "Having a baby is a beautiful experience, and the realities of postpartum life aren't spoken enough about."

The photo is definitely raw and uncensored. The reality is that many women wear a diaper postpartum—and that's something we don't talk openly about. Amanda asks: Why do people find this uncomfortable?

"I seriously don't get it! It's probably because this part isn't talked about. We all should try and educate, empower and embrace every aspect of childbirth, including moments like this. And do it while having a sense of humor [sic]," she writes. "Nothing says welcome to motherhood like an adorable squishy baby, and a giant mom diaper."

She even goes on to include an edit: Her husband wasn't the one who thought this photo should be posted—it was all her!
