When eight-year-old Jewel Warren received an invitation to a father-daughter dance, she was devastated. Her Dad, Tim Warren, a Memphis police officer, died in the line of duty in 2011.

Seeing how upset Jewel was, her mom contacted the Our Fallen Heroes Foundation, which then got in touch with members of the community to help give Jewel a well-deserved night out.

A local salon dolled her up, and then she was presented with a corsage and single long-stemmed rose from six officers from her dad's former department. A local photographer donated her time to capture the special moments from this memorable evening.

Officer Amen, one of the police officers who took Jewel to the event, said in a statement on the Memphis Police Department’s Facebook page: “We know we cannot replace Tim, but we can be there for his family when we are needed.”

We’re absolutely in awe of this amazing community! Judging by the photos, it looks like Jewel had a wonderful time. Let's conga!
