Canadian country music megastar Shania Twain has given her famous voice to an RCMP initiative against family violence.

"Sometimes home is where the hurt is," she says in the 60-second video, which the Royal Canadian Mounted Police posted on YouTube, referring to all forms of abuse—physical, sexual, emotional—"Abuse is abuse."

"Tell someone you trust, and always report incidents of violence to the police," she says, "because violence—especially in your own home—is never acceptable."
