The Facebook CEO co-wrote an open letter to his daughter pledging to donate 99 percent of his Facebook shares to charity.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg co-wrote an open letter to his newborn daughter, Max, in which it was announced he and wife Priscilla Chan intend to donate 99 percent of their Facebook shares to "advancing human potential and promoting equality" through their new organization, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. So just how much is 99 percent of the couples Facebook shares? Well, that's in the ballpark of a whopping $45 billion, according to Business Insider! Not too shabby.
The proud new parents state the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative will fund non-profits and focus on curing disease and building strong communities. In the letter, which has already gone viral, the couple write about the kind of world they envision for their daughter: "Like all parents, we want you to grow up in a world better than ours today...we will do our part to make this happen, not only because we love you, but also because we have a moral responsibility to all children in the next generation."

Talk about a generous offer during the holiday season! Kudos to the happy couple.
