Mark Zuckerberg shares intimate photo of himself and pregnant wife

Yesterday, Facebook C.E.O. Mark Zuckerberg, 31, shared an intimate photo of himself and his pregnant wife, Priscilla Chan—taken by the amazing Annie Leibovitz. Delightfully personal in his caption, Zuckerberg praised Leibovitz's accurate depiction of his wife's "spirit."

“This is a stunning photo of Priscilla,” he writes. “I love her expression: intense yet kind, fierce yet loving, leading yet always supporting others. Thank you to Annie Leibovitz for capturing her spirit so beautifully.”

Leibovitz shot the gorgeous photo back in October during Vanity Fair's New Establishment Summit event, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, in San Francisco.

The portrait is particularly precious given Zuckerberg and Chan's difficult journey to pregnancy—which he shared with the public back in July.

"You feel so hopeful when you learn you're going to have a child," he wrote. "You start imagining who they'll become and dreaming of hopes for their future. You start making plans, and then they're gone. It's a lonely experience. Most people don't discuss miscarriages because you worry your problems will distance you or reflect upon you—as if you're defective or did something to cause this. So you struggle on your own."

Zuckerberg and Chan were married in 2012 and are expecting a baby girl.
