Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon: Split
Parents of twins Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have announced their separation after six years of marriage. Sources say age difference was a contributing factor.
Shocker? Or not shocker? A little bit shocker? Still too bad.
It's been confirmed: Nick Cannon, 33, and Mariah Carey, 44, have announced they are separating after six years of marriage and two kids together—three-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.

The America's Got Talent host recently confirmed that he and Mariah have been living apart, in an interview with The Insider. “There is trouble in paradise,” he confessed. “We've been living in separate houses for a few months."
"My main focus is my kids," he added.
According to a source for Hollywoodlife.com, the couple's 11-year age difference had a lot to do with the breakup. “He wanted to party, and she wanted to stay home with the kids," says the source. "He’s young, the age difference played a huge role in this.” The source also says Mariah's "diva" ways made Nick dread coming home.

“I don’t comment on Mariah’s personal life,” Mariah's rep tells Us Weekly, “but Mariah is focusing on her children and her upcoming tour.”
Sources for Us say that, as a result of the rocky situation with Mariah, Nick hasn't been himself behind-the-scenes on America's Got Talent. “He’s more closed off this season,” a source says.
“He never talks about Mariah," says another source for the mag, "and she has never been to set in all the seasons he has hosted."

Nick and Mariah met on the set of her "Bye Bye" music video and got married about a month later, in April 2008. This was Nick's first marriage and the second for Mariah, who was previously married to producer Tommy Mottola.
The multiple Grammy winner has also opened up about having a miscarriage before conceiving her twins. And that pregnancy wasn't without several serious complications, including gestational diabetes and preeclampsia.
