Yes, you read that right. Kristen says she smells like pee.
I can't believe I just wrote that. Kristen Bell smells like urine. But that's what she said. Well, she said we all smell like urine.
"In the age of social media, when you can edit your life in beautiful pictures, it's important to remind moms that all of us are wearing yogurt and all of our hands smell like urine," says Kristen, mom to Lincoln and Delta, in a new interview with Redbook.
She's totally right. When you're a parent, you wipe a lot of bums. And you deal with a lot of gross bodily fluids that don't come out of your own body. So yes, sometimes you smell like pee. Isn't parenthood awesome?
I love that Kristen admits that motherhood isn't always pretty or glamorous—despite what Instagram may make you believe. Blake Lively also recently complained about perfect moms on Instagram, which was a little odd. Have you seen her Instagram account? Everything looks perfect. But Kristen isn't afraid to get real about parenthood.
Kristen is out promoting her new film, Bad Moms, and she's talking about her own parenting style—which is not bad at all.
"Recently I've had an epiphany that if I'm as nice to my daughter as I want to be, she's not going to respect me. Giving your kids strong boundaries is good for them, because if you just let them do whatever they want, you raise a jerk."
Yes, yes, yes!
And Kristen isn't done being candid. Nope, she's also talking about her and Dax's sex life. Now, do you and your partner find yourself so busy (and exhausted) that you have to schedule time for sex? So do Dax and Kristen!
"We're pretty decent about staying on top of it. We'll be like, 'Okay, it's been how many days?' We find a night when nobody is coming over and we don't have to work super-early in the morning, and then we slot it in."
Dax and Kristen are serious #couplegoals, so it's kind of awesome that even they have to make time for sex. And tend to prioritize sleep over sex. Don't we all?
Kristen and Dax have two young daughters—Lincoln is three and Delta is just a year. Kristen admits that it took her over a year to lose the baby weight. And guess what? That's OK.
"When I look down, even now, at the extra skin on my belly, it's a reminder that I've done something spectacular. It's a reminder that I'm a superhero. And I'm proud of it," she says in an interview with Today.com.
Preach! We should all embrace that extra skin.
Bad Moms isn't in theatres till July 29, so we have a few more weeks of Kristen promoting this movie and saying more awesome things.
