Kim Kardashian posts revealing belfie to prove she's pregnant

So, this pregnancy selfie—belfie?—has been creating quite a stir since Kim Kardashian posted it on Instagram yesterday.

I'm not ashamed to say I enjoy Kim and her hubby Kanye West immensely—not because they're changing the world or doing anything particularly important, but because they keep pulling stunts like this, which simply make me laugh. I mean, there's no sense getting so angry about it, as people do.

Her latest stunt is, of course, this naked belfie—AKA bump selfie, which is really more of a butt selfie, since it totally showcases her famous derriere. ("#GoodLighting," she says.) Whatever it takes, though, to get her message across: Kim is not faking it; this pregnancy is REAL.

"I think you all know me well enough to know I would document the process if I got a surrogate," she writes. "Everyone's body is different, every pregnancy is very different!"

Kim goes on to share how grateful she is to be pregnant at all and not suffer, as she did in her previous pregnancy, from preeclampsia, "as far as I know."

It's true, Kim would totally tell us if she got a surrogate. If there's one thing I admire about her it's her transparency. I mean, there's nothing the reality TV star won't (over)share. And imagine the publicity that would come from documenting the surrogacy process?!

Anyway, we've spent a bit too long chatting about this. But, we have discussed the issue of pregnancy size at length before. Remember when Alyssa Milano posted her (not naked) belfie with the best hashtag ever, #shortpeoplecarrybig?

At almost 5'1" (slightly taller than Kourtney Kardashian, FYI), I am one of those "short people," and I definitely carried big. At five months into my first pregnancy, people were telling me I was going to "pop" soon—not exactly what I wanted to hear.

So, moral is, as Kim basically says in her post: You really can't tell a pregnancy by its size. Though a naked belfie showcasing her famous asset and a lengthy explanation weren't exactly necessary—even a bit bizarre—it's nothing less than what we've come to expect, perhaps enjoy, from her.
