In her first interview as a mom, Keira Knightley reveals her baby's name—plus, she shares thoughts on motherhood, the sleeplessness and how pregnancy makes you feel great about your bod.
Freshly 30-year-old Keira Knightley graces the cover of the September issue of Elle Magazine, and had a lovely thing to say about pregnancy—in addition to revealing her baby girl's name, Edie!
"I have to say, as a woman, you hate certain parts of your body,” she says. "You go through those periods where you look in the mirror and you think, Oh, if only I had different legs or arms or whatever. You go through pregnancy and labor and then feeding the kid and you go, Wow, my body is totally amazing, and I'm never going to not like it again, because it did this, and this is f*cking extraordinary.”
Indeed, it’s hard to imagine Keira disliking any part of her body. But, you know, it’s kind of a thing most of us women do, alas.
The Imitation Game star also says she’s loving being a mom to baby Edie, now almost three months old. "The love thing is astonishing,” she tells the mag. "It’s a very primal, primal love.”
"And the ability to have no sleep and continue going,” she adds. "It's not pleasant—I never thought that I could actually do it for the amount of time that I've done it.” Yeah, we are all superheroes for getting through that!
This is Keira’s first interview since she and hubby James Righton welcomed their baby girl. Pretty great, I’d say. Read the rest of the charming interview over at Elle.
