Kate Middleton appeared at a children's hospice launch appeal Tuesday and didn't leave before comforting a grieving mom.
The Duchess is back!
Earlier today (Tuesday, November 25), the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton—now four months pregnant—appeared at an East Anglia Children's Hospice (EACH) Appeal Launch event, in Norwich, England, for their bid to raise $16 million for a new kids' hospice in the region.
“I greatly admire the dedication, generosity and achievements of the charity’s supporters and volunteers and look forward to seeing the progress of this campaign,” she said to the audience of parents, kids and volunteers at EACH's existing children's hospices.
Kate, 32, made a great impression, as always, at the event, not only because of her beauty and passionate words about the initiative but also because of a special interaction with one of the mothers there. As People reports, at the end of the event, Kate hugged a woman named Leigh Smith, who had recently lost her baby girl, and said, "You're a very brave lady, and again, I'm just so so sorry."
"Kate sought me out and gave me a hug just before she left," Leigh says. "I was getting quite teary-eyed, she had tears in her eyes."
Indeed, this isn't the first time we've heard stories of Kate's compassion.
Kate looked lovely as ever at the event—this time in a red dress by designer Katherine Hooker. And everyone talking about that elegant ponytail, as yet another example of how the Duchess has been experimenting with new 'dos during this second pregnancy.
With today's event under her (no doubt fashionable) belt, Kate has a break until next weekend, when she and Prince William head to New York!
Love!
