Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck getting a divorce: Official

It's official, alas. Hollywood marriages don't last—at least if you were counting on Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck's marriage as a benchmark, as many of us were. And to make this even more heartbreaking, Ben and Jen went public with their divorce just one day ofter their 10-year anniversary.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," they announced in a joint statement. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private family matter. Thank you for understanding."

Ben, 42, and Jen, 43, have three kids together: Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3. They met on the set of Daredevil, in 2003.

The news of their divorce will come as no big surprise to many, since rumours of their split have been swirling over the last several months. But still, we didn't want to believe it. Sad!
