Four-year-old cancer patient "marries" her favourite nurse—so sweet!

The sweetest wedding for a very sweet little girl.

By Ashley Metzger

Prepare yourself, because this is too adorable for words!

Four-year-old Abby is fighting pre-B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Part of Abby’s treatment requires her to attend a clinic at New York’s Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Albany Medical Center. Earlier this week, Abby told her mom she wanted to marry her nurse, Matt Hickling.

Adorable, right?! It gets even cuter.

After hearing her daughter say this, Abby’s mom wanted to let Matt know in advance—you know, so he could play along. But she had no idea he would do this: Queue a florist, a whole nursing staff as bridesmaids, rose petals and the cutest tuxedo shirt. That’s right, Matt threw together a hospital wedding for young Abby—on a day’s notice, no less!

In the adorable videoamong the cuteness overload of photos on Abby’s Facebook page, you can see Abby walk down the rose-petalled aisle to Matt as hospital workers hum the traditional wedding melody. When she finally reaches Matt, she gives him the biggest hug. Matt removes her face mask so she can talk, and then the worker overseeing the “wedding” asks Abby if she has anything to say to Matt. She asks “Will you marry me?” Of course our knight in a shining tuxedo shirt says “Yes!”
