Celeb moms at the Emmys 2014

Hayden Panettiere

Last night's Emmys was, as always, a night of Hollywood glam and celebration. It's clear TV has stepped it up a major notch in the last few years. Most important, however, were the dresses, of course, and the night's parenting revelations—of which actress Hayden Panettiere, who's kept mum about her pregnancy, was queen: She let it slip she's having a girl, and that her baby's name will be American and Ukranian (like her hubby).

The dress: Hayden opted to go uber sexy for her big night out. The young mom-to-be is one of few in this world who can pull off the plunging neckline on that shimmery Lorena Sarbu maternity gown.

Amanda Peet

Breaking! Who knew Amanda Peet, 42, was pregnant again? The actress debuted a sizeable baby bump in this stunning floral Giambattista Valli gown. This is the third child for Amanda and hubby, Game of Thrones co-creator David Benioff, 43.

Amanda and David already have two daughters—Frances, 7, and Molly, 4. "They're pretty excited," Amanda told Us Weekly on the red carpet. "The older one is pretty excited, the middle one is not so sure."

Gwen Stefani

So, Gwen Stefani announced "Colbort Report" as the winner of Most Outstanding Variety Series—and no one will let her live it down just yet. But, I argue, the woman had to take her five-month-old baby, Apollo, to the Emmys. She's sleep-deprived, so no wonder she flubbed the name. And who cares, when you look that amazing in one of the hottest Versace dresses ever. Gorj!

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

But it was Julia Louis-Dreyfus's night last night: Between her third consecutive win for Lead Actress in Comedy Series (Veep) and big-time smooching with Bryan Cranston—the 53-year-old rocked the house in this amazing red Carolina Herrera dress.

And psssst! In case you missed the smooch, you really do need this GIF in your life.

Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara stirred up controversy when she was placed on a slowly spinning pedestal for all to admire, once and for all, her famous curves. (She spoke out against the criticism earlier today.) And this brilliant Roberto Cavalli dress did its job showing them off!

Camila Alves

I don't know about you, but I was knocked out by the utter gorgeousness of Camila Alves and her Zuhair Murad dress. Her handsomest accessory, hubby Matthew McConaughey, was also the butt of one of the best lines of the night, from Jimmy Kimmel: "All right, all right, all right already!" Ha!

While dazzling us all in her shimmery Narcisco Rodriguez dress, Julianna gave a heartfelt acceptance speech, thanking her hubby and son: "Keith and Keiran? Best part of my day is coming home to you." Awww!

Four months after the baby arrives, and you look like this in your snug, strapless Prada? Kerry Washington's secret: "A lot of working out," she said on the red carpet. "That's it."

Homeland's Claire Danes looked a little Christmasy in this red Givenchy Haute Couture with the butterfly "wreath" detail around the neck. But, the exquisite back of the dress made up for all that.
