Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett and her husband, Andrew Upton, have adopted a baby girl.
It's a girl for Cate Blanchett!
Cate, 45, and her Australian playwright-director hubby, Andrew Upton, 49, have adopted a baby girl. The Australian Women's Weekly was the first to report the big news. Us Weekly has since confirmed it with Cate's reps: "The Upton family (Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton) have adopted a baby girl," the rep told the mag. "No further details will be provided."
According to Women's Weekly, however, the baby's name is Vivienne, and Cate's been spotted picking up her sons at their Sydney school with her new daughter in her arms. "She's really excited and clearly besotted," one of the parents at the school tells Women's Weekly.
Interesting tidbit: A tweet went out Monday, March 3, before any of the reports surfaced: "Just getting on a flight at LAX and #CateBlanchett is on board. With a tiny baby."
The Oscar-winning actress and her hubby were married in December 1997. Baby Vivienne joins their three sons, Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, 6.
Congrats to the family!
