Sesame Street will always live in our hearts thanks to brilliant little videos like this Birdman spoof.
Our favourite eight-foot-two bird is flying high on the interwebs lately. In addition to appearing with FLOTUS Michelle Obama in a recent "Billy on the Street" video (in which they slow danced to Billy singing Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing"!), Big Bird's now starring in the most awesome, it-had-to-happen spoof of the Oscar-nominated film Birdman.
Big Birdman (or the unexpected virtue of orange pants) co-stars Caroll Spinney (the man who is Big Bird) and perfectly marries the essence of Michael Keaton's performance in Birdman with Big Bird's life on Sesame Street—with references spanning monsters, birdseed, learning the alphabet and, of course, how to get to Sesame Street. (The theme song is playing in your head, isn't it?)
Whether you've seen Birdman or not, this introspective monologue utterly charming. Watch it here:
