Barbie just got the best makeover and we're loving it
Barbie just got a lot more realistic.
Barbie's been to the moon. She's a dentist and a rockstar. But it wasn't until today that she got her best makeover yet. The new Barbie Fashionistas line comes in three body types that will all be sold alongside the original model. Yep, Barbie now comes in tall, petite and curvy.
"These new dolls represent a line that is more reflective of the world girls see around them—the variety in body type, skin tones and style allows girls to find a doll that speaks to them," says Evelyn Mazzocco, Senior Vice President and Global General Manager Barbie, in a press release.
Besides the new body types, the new 2016 Barbie Fashionistas dolls come in seven different skin tones, 22 eye colours, and 24 hairstyles. Talk about variety! Barbie is trying to give kids a more realistic idea of what a woman's body looks like.
In 2015, Barbie introduced different skin tones, hair styles and colours, and of course, her new flat foot (a girl's got to be comfortable, you know?)!
We've seen Barbie evolve over the years, and frankly, we can't wait to see where she goes next. You go girl!
