As you may know, August 1 - 7 is World Breastfeeding Week.

To honour the event, Alanis Morissette, 40, took to Instagram on Saturday, Aug. 2, and posted an old photo of herself breastfeeding her baby boy, Ever, who's now three.

"Family on tour ;) europe 2012 #worldbreastfeedingweek #isupportyou @msjamielynne #everlovedhischakraglasses @jaygordonmdfaap," she writes along with the photo of her family of three—all of whom are wearing super-cool shades.

The Canadian singer and hubby, rapper Mario "MC Souleye" Treadway (who just makes it into the photo, top left), wed in May 2010. Their son, Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway was born on Christmas Day of that same year. Alanis has since become a staunch supporter of breastfeeding and attachment parenting.

Indeed, this isn't the first time she's used her legendary voice to advocate for the cause. “I’m an attachment parent and I breastfeed and I’ll be breastfeeding until my son is finished and he weans himself," she famously proclaimed, in a May 2012 radio interview with host Billy Bush. "I think it affords the child, when they grow up, to have a lot less therapy to have to go through.”

“We are skin connected as much as possible,” she went on to say. “His safety and his well-being and that attachment in his development is…pivotal.”
