Robert De Niro, a Hollywood icon for more than five decades, may need to update his newborn checklist — STAT. The 79-year-old actor recently expanded his greatest role as "Dad," confirming the birth of a new baby in a sit-down interview with ET Canada on Tuesday. When interviewer Britnee Blair mentioned De Niro's six children, he proudly corrected her saying, "Seven, actually — I just had a baby."

Though there aren't many details about the baby's gender or name yet, a representative confirmed the recent addition to the notoriously private De Niro clan, according to Associated Press. We'll have to wait and see if they choose a creative baby name inspired by art, music or fashion or a name that means miracle.

De Niro, an only child himself, is also the father to daughter, Drena, and son Raphael, whom he had with his first wife, Diahnne Abbott, twin sons Aaron and Julian from former girlfriend Toukie Smith and son Elliot and daughter Helen Grace with his ex-wife, Grace Hightower.

While promoting his latest film, About My Father, De Niro gushed about “being loving with (his) kids” even when he's forced to be “stern about stuff” every now and then."It’s always good and mysterious and you don’t know what the hell is going to happen," De Niro said. “But I don’t think I’m a cool Dad."

While Godfather fans might disagree, De Niro noted his 11-year-old daughter has gotten pretty good at giving him "grief" as they sometimes do.

“And my youngest now," he added, "that’ll be more to come."
