Meet The Luxury Travel Nanny Rocking Babies To Sleep At 35,000 Feet
Step inside the world of a luxury travel nanny, where days are a mix of sleep training in hotel suites, wrangling toddlers through airports and helping parents enjoy their vacations.

Newborns on red-eye flights. Toddlers on the beaches of Hawaii. Strollers rolling through Aspen snow. This is what my first year as a luxury travel nanny and certified doula looked like.
When I tell people what I do, their first reaction is usually, “Wait, people hire nannies to travel with them?” The short answer: Yes. The longer story is that it’s becoming more common, especially for families juggling newborns, time zones, and major events. According to staffing agency Morgan & Mallet International, demand for travel nannies has grown by 20 percent in the last five years.
Who’s usually in my care (and how tiny are they)?
Most of my Bibity Bobity Bump clients have one to two young children, often under the age of five. Many are first-time parents navigating new routines and high-pressure schedules—whether they’re headed on a family vacation, a destination wedding, or travelling for work.
Because I’m also a certified newborn care specialist, I often care for infants as young as a few weeks old, especially when families want overnight support in hotels or during flights.

The job starts way before the flight
Some families book me months in advance for an international trip, while others reach out at the last minute when their baby stops sleeping and a red-eye flight is looming. Ideally, I begin supporting families a few days before a trip, offering help with packing, sleep transitions, and travel prep.
The earlier we start, the better I can tailor the care plan to the child’s needs and help parents feel relaxed and prepared before takeoff.
From ski season in Aspen to weekends in Vegas
I’ve worked in Aspen during ski season, done multi-destination work trips, and cared for babies on the beaches of Hawaii and the entire California Coast. I’ve supported families and production teams at destination weddings, weekend getaways in Vegas, and family visits to New York.
Luxury doesn’t always mean lavish—sometimes, it’s just about ease, peace and personalized care, wherever we are.
Why did my business take off so quickly?
I think it comes down to timing and intention. Parenting is evolving. Families today crave real, grounded support that fits their lifestyle, not one-size-fits-all childcare. We do not want to stay in their homes or watch Bluey episodes on repeat. We know now that children learn the most by being exposed to new cultures and adapting to new environments.
Parents can feel my intuition and dedication to the craft. Word of mouth spread fast, especially in close-knit communities and among travelling professionals. My goal is to make fluid lifestyles attainable and convenient.
Within a few months, I had gone from overnight doula shifts in San Diego to receiving inquiries to travel across Europe and around the world.

Yes, I’ve mastered the art of changing a diaper in turbulence
My role is to make the flight as smooth and stress-free as possible for both the baby and the parents. This can include:
● Feeding, burping, and soothing the baby during takeoff and landing ● Managing diapers and sleep routines in tight cabin spaces ● All packing and pre-travel coordination to set up for in-cabin success ● Preparing bottles and calming overstimulated toddlers ● Keeping parents hydrated, rested, and confident
I pack a “tool kit” with sleep essentials, natural remedies, and curated toys to keep little ones regulated. On overnight flights, I often stay awake so the parents can sleep.
As for how I travel? It depends on the family. Some fly first class or private, others prefer business or premium economy—and I’m prepared for all of it.
Baby concierge mode: On

At the destination, I’m part travel nanny, part baby concierge, offering the family a high-level support experience. I support sleep consulting across time zones and offer premium flexibility. Whether it's working on speech development, teaching baby ASL or culturally enriching, my child-led, play-based, nature-forward approach is a fan favourite across the board.
I, of course, make time for fun too! I plan child-friendly activities that are aligned with the family’s lifestyle—from nature walks to sensory play on the beach, the kiddos I work with see it all.
What about after the trip?
I often stay in touch with families long after we land. Some book me for their next trip, or reach out for postpartum check-ins. Others call when it’s time for sleep coaching, sibling transitions, or baby number two.
It’s not just about the trip—it’s about building trust and being another character in the family’s village.
My top travel tips for everyday parents
Whether you’re flying first class or sitting in row 32 with a lap baby and two backpacks, here are a few things I always recommend:
1. Prep early. Pack 24 hours ahead and include comfort items your baby associates with sleep. Plus, always hide a new toy in the diaper bag for when baby gets fussy or bored. 2. Use layers. Dress baby in soft, breathable layers and have a change of clothes within reach. 3. Feed during takeoff and landing. Nursing or bottle-feeding helps with ear pressure. 4. Keep a calm presence. Babies feed off your energy. Regulate yourself first. 5. Everyone will offer help along the way. Take the help.
Being a luxury travel nanny is a mix of strategy, intuition and heart. It’s not always glamorous, but it’s deeply meaningful. I’m not just there to hold the baby; I’m there to hold the entire experience together so parents can breathe, connect and truly enjoy the moments they’ve worked so hard to create.
