Most expecting parents spend close to 10 months imagining what their baby will be like—and who they'll look like. Can't wait? That's what AI baby photo generators are for. While your newborn may look nothing like the ultra-realistic AI-generated baby pictures, the tools are certainly fun to play with while you wait.

Here's a guide on using these tools and some safety tips to consider.

How do online baby photo generators work?

You can easily find AI baby photo generators online or in apps. While some apps charge for better options, there are free AI baby generators available.

Regardless of the chosen option, the underlying technology is similar. HP Newquist, an AI expert, says most tools work by analyzing the facial features of both parents through photos to predict what their child might look like.

According to Newquist, "These generators utilize various algorithms to merge facial features from both parents, including eye colour, nose shape, and other characteristics."

How have baby generators evolved?

Priyansh Kothari, creator of SeeYourBabyAI, notes that as technology has advanced, the algorithms have become more sophisticated.

"One popular approach is to use artificial intelligence to merge images of both parents," Kothari says. "When you input a prompt like 'baby photo,' the AI attempts to generate a new baby image based on an analysis of the parents’ pictures. Unlike simply mixing images, it breaks down each photo to create something new."

In the future, Maitreyi Chatterjee, a technology expert and software engineer at LinkedIn, predicts that AI baby photo apps will create images that look more realistic.

"This includes the creation of 3D avatars with skin textures that appear lifelike," she explains. Chatterjee adds, "With Deepseek's new model, we expect better quality models to work well on devices like mobile phones."

Playing with AI baby photo generators can be a lot of fun, but it's important to keep things in perspective.

According to tech expert Kevin Shahnazari, "These images aren't meant to be taken as scientific forecasts. Instead, they're more like creative interpretations of what your future child might look like."

Privacy and data risks

"Uploading your face to an AI platform means trusting the company with your facial features," according to Newquist. "Companies might store, share, or misuse your information, posing a risk.

Accuracy

AI baby generators create realistic-looking images. However, they can't predict exactly how a real child will look.

Gleb Tkatchouk from ARTA, an AI image company, explains that genes are complex. "A baby's features come from more than just their parents. The true appearance of a future child remains a surprise worth waiting for," he says.

How To Choose A Baby Generator

Choose secure options

Newquist says it's important to choose AI baby photo generators that keep your data safe.

"Good developers take privacy seriously, using encryption to protect your uploads and deleting images after processing," he explains. "Some companies protect your face by implementing strict no-storage policies and allowing you to opt out of AI training."

Prioritize simple features

Kothari also recommends choosing apps that are user-friendly and straightforward.

"At its core, it should be just uploading the photos of both parents," he says. "The AI should handle everything else in the background."

Consider cost

Tech expert Paul Posea notes that many AI baby photo generators offer affordable or free online plans for those on a budget.

Step 1: Choose your photos

"Choose clear, front-facing headshots that show your facial features in high resolution," Chatterjee recommends. "Otherwise, the AI generator often fails to blend the features effectively.

Step 2: Upload your photos

"Add the chosen images to the areas labelled 'Parent 1/Parent 2' or 'Mom/Dad'," Tkatchouk advises. "In web applications, you can drag and drop the selected images into the designated parent windows. In mobile apps, tap the 'upload image' button to select photos from your device."

Step 3: Choose the baby’s gender

Once parents upload photos, Tkatchouk says they should choose the baby's gender as the next step.

He suggests, "Choose the baby's gender or select 'Random' for a surprise, like a gender reveal party."

Step 4: Generate the baby image

Afterward, Tkatchouk says it's time to generate the baby image.

"Simply hit the 'Generate' button and wait while the AI processes the images," he instructs. "The generation time may vary depending on the tool, taking anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes."

Step 5: Download and share

Once the AI tool has worked its magic, Tkatchouk says the final step is to download and share the generated baby image.

If you need inspiration to find the best AI baby photo generators, consider any of these picks below.

SeeYourBabyAI

This AI examines the unique facial features of each parent to generate realistic images of potential offspring. The site charges $7 for four girl and four boy photos.

Remini Baby AI

Remini is an all-around AI photo tool but it can be used to create a baby photo. Upload a mix of photos of your partner and yourself to the platform, choose a baby AI generator and wait for the adorable results. "Just remember," says Posea, "it cannot accurately give a baby face prediction."

Remini offers limited free photos and has monthly plans for more images and features.
