VTech Technologies Canada Ltd. has recalled its Shake & Sing Elephant Rattle due to a possible choking hazard. The ears on the elephant rattle can break off, releasing a metal rod that can pose a choking hazard to young children.

The rattle consists of a purple elephant with one yellow ear and one blue ear; the toy lights up and plays melodies, songs, and fun phrases. Only rattles with date codes VT 5353 to VT 7095 are included in the recall. The date codes can be found at the bottom of the box and inside the battery cover.
