Evanka Osmak anchors the weekday prime time edition of Sportsnet Central. She is also the co-host of the ‘Moms in the Middle’ podcast. The podcast just wrapped up Season 2 and was recognized by Apple as being one of the best podcasts of 2019.
Evanka initially pursued a career in civil engineering after earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering Degree from Queens University. Two years after graduating from Queens, Evanka attended Seneca College at York University where she earned a Radio and Television Broadcasting diploma. After a brief time in radio with JACK-FM in Orillia, ON she moved onto KYMA-TV (NBC) in Yuma, Arizona. Evanka worked for two years as a Morning Show host before returning to Toronto in 2007 when she signed on with Sportsnet.
Evanka recently earned her Honourary Doctorate from Nippising University for her volunteer work in the community. She served on the Special Olympics Ontario board for two full terms, acts as an ambassador for Golf Fore the Cure alongside Golf Canada and is a committee member of the Sports Media Canada Luncheon.
