RECALL: Beef recall update
Officials are warning Canadians to exercise extreme caution around any XL Foods beef products, even if they're not on the list of recalled products, which is expanding daily.
As we've been reporting, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and several federal and provincial health officials are warning Canadians to stay away from various beef products manufactured or sold by XL Foods (Est. 38) due to possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination. Unfortunately, illnesses are now being reported.
Health authorities are now recommending that Canadians exercise caution when buying any beef product distributed by XL Foods, even if it's not on the list — because the recall list continues to grow daily. Talk to your retailer.

In the meantime, CFIA has suspended Est. 38's license to operate. All the plant's products have been seized until all the E. coli testing has been completed.
