Waterton Lakes National Park

Location: Southwest Alberta

It’s the only park in the world that can boast these three designations: a Unesco World Heritage Site, an International Peace Park, and a Biosphere reserve. Because it’s a place where several ecological regions meet, the views include rolling mountains, prairie grasses and beautiful coastlines. Stay at the Townsite Campground, where access to a range of amenities will complement regular sightings of mule deer and bighorn sheep.

Silent Lake

Location: Bancroft, Ontario

This is the perfect place for camping neophytes to embark on an outdoor love affair. The private lake location is just rustic enough, and the flush toilets and showers make camping less extreme. There are electric campsites and yurts available, so glamp away if that’s your style.

Lake Superior Provincial Park

Location: Wawa, Ontario

If you’re new to camping, this park has sites to meet all of your needs. Intermediate campers should check out Gargantua, which is only a short hike or paddle in and offers stunning scenery and a more remote feel.

Parc national d'Anticosti

Location: Port Menier, Quebec

This Gulf of St. Lawrence location features white cliffs, roaring falls, secluded caves, schools of salmon, and seals sunning on rocks. Families can enjoy swimming, canoeing, mini rafting, tubing, and underwater exploration. Plus, there are both camping and glamping options.

Cavendish Campground

Location: Cavendish, Prince Edward Island
