Health Canada and Wal-Mart Canada Corp. have recalled Parent's Choice Wooden Blocks after discovering that the surface coating material on the print of the storage bag exceeds the allowable limit for barium, therefore not meeting the Canadian toy safety requirements.
The wooden blocks are sold as a set of 26 square blocks with various coloured numbers, pictures and letters printed on the faces of the blocks. They come in a storage bag made of white plastic with a purple and yellow Parent’s Choice logo and can be identified by UPC 62891558225.
Approximately 3,035 units of the wooden blocks were sold in Canada between August 2017 and December 2017.
As of January 9, 2018, Wal-Mart Canada Corp. has received no reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these toys in Canada.
What should you do? Consumers should immediately take the recalled toy away from children and return the product to their nearest Walmart Canada store for a full refund.
For more information, consumers may contact Wal-Mart Canada Corp. at 1-800-328-0802, Monday to Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. EST.
