Ikea Canada is recalling one of its nightlights after discovering the plastic covering can fall off and expose the wires.
Health Canada and IKEA are recalling nearly half a million Patrull nightlights because they pose an electrical shock hazard.
The recalled Patrull nightlight with sensor comes in orange, pink and white and has the following article numbers:
You can find the article number on the nightlight's packaging.
The affected nightlights have a plastic cover that can fall off and expose the wires inside, on which a child could shock herself. In Canada, 83,000 nightlights are being recalled and 359,000 in the United States. The nightlights were sold between August 2013 and July 2015.
If you have one of these products: Stop using the nightlight immediately, and return it to IKEA for a full refund. There have been no reported incidents linked to the product. If you have any questions, please contact IKEA at 1-800-661-9807.
