Boomerang Kids

This brick-and-mortar chain, whose stock is about 25 percent new product, also has an online shop, where you can sort by size, brand, category, price or condition (including new with tags). Have it sent to you, or reserve it to be picked up from one of their eight locations. You can also score baby gear, costumes and maternity wear here as well. We especially love the dance section, since it can get so pricey suiting up your tiny dancer.

Eco Outfitters

The founder’s nine-year-old daughter was distraught by the garment factory fire in Bangladesh, which got the whole family thinking about the human cost of our excessive consumption. And thus, the Ontario-based Eco Outfitters was born. The online shop sends out its goods in overstocked cardboard boxes from other companies; even the tags are compostable. Cloth diaper sets can also be purchased here; all pre-folds, wraps, liners and all-in-ones are washed in bleach before sale. If you live in the GTA, take advantage of 8 free pick-up and delivery spots.

Perfect Threads

This online second-hand shop is strict about the condition of the clothes it sells, requesting only those in new or excellent used condition (clothing that’s more, say, pre-loved is relegated to the bargain box section, where you can score seven pieces for as little as $8). If you’ve got clothes to sell, shipping is free, and you can use the proceeds to shop the site—or donate your payout to one of their four partner charities.
