Health Canada has announced a recall involving the Playtex Hip Hammock Child Carrier. The buckles at the waist and the shoulder straps aren't reliable — thereby posing a serious fall hazard.

Please see the Health Canada's recall notice here>

There have been four reported incidents of the straps breaking with no injuries, 83 reports of the buckles cracking or breaking — two serious injuries.

The affected products have been sold in stores and online throughout Canada from June 2004 to January 2010, and in the United States from June 2004 to December 2008.

If you have this product: Health Canada is advising consumers to stop using the carrier. Contact Playtex for refund instructions: 1-800-522-8230; or visit their website.
