Graco announces the recall of 3.8 million child car seats in the U.S. and is being pressed to recall infant car seats. Here's information for Canadians.
UPDATED: Health Canada has issued an official advisory for various Graco Nautilus and MyRide 65 models.
Graco has announced the recall of about 3.8 million car seats sold between 2009 and 2013 in the U.S. (see note below regarding Canada). The buckles may get stuck, trapping infants in the seat.
Graco is saying food or drink spills in and around the buckles is causing them to stick.
Car seats involved in the recall are as follows:
Toddler convertible car seats
Comfort Sport
Cozy Cline (pictured above)
Classic Ride 50
My Ride 65
My Ride 65 with Safety Surround
My Ride 70
Size 4 Me 70
Smart Seat
Harnessed booster car seats
Argos 70
Nautilus
Nautilus Edge
Graco is also being pressed to recall another 1.8 million of the following rear-facing infant carseats (though these products are not being recalled, Graco will honour buckle-replacement requests):
Snugride
Snugride 30
Snugride 32
Infant Safe Seat-Step 1
Snugride 35
Tuetonia 35
Snugride Click Connect 40.
NOTE: Canadian carseats are currently being evaluated. If you are having issues with your buckle, please fill out the request form on the Graco Canada website.
