Health Canada has announced a recall involving two models of the Tommee Tippee Monitor with Movement Sensor Pad.
Health Canada has announced the recall of two models of the Tommee Tippee Monitor with Movement Sensor Pad—models 1082S and 1094. The cord attached to the monitors' sensor pad poses a strangulation hazard: The baby may tug the cord into the crib, and it may wrap around her neck.
See Health Canada for the official recall notice.
In Canada, the product has been sold at Babies "R" Us Canada since November 2011. Thousands have been sold in the U.S., as well. There have been no reported injuries or events associated with this recall.
If you have these products: Immediately ensure the cord is out of child's reach and and contact the company, Mayborn USA, Inc. to receive a cord cover kit: Call 1-866-214-1537 or visit the Tommee Tippee website.
The cord cover kit includes protective cord covers and a new electric cord with a strangulation warning label and updated instructions.
