Homeade tzatziki dip
In a bowl, stir plain 2% yogurt with some peeled and seeded, finely chopped cucumber. Stir in fresh finely chopped dill and chives, salt and pepper to taste. Tzatziki will keep well, covered and refrigerated for at least two days. Serve with torn whole-wheat pita, pepper strips, carrots and celery sticks.

Pizzettes
Instead of tossing that leftover baguette, use it for a next day pizza-meets-baguette snack. Simply slice in half lengthwise. Spread a little tomato sauce over cut sides. Top with any veggies you have on hand, sliced peppers, mushrooms, and a little shredded mozzarella. Wrap tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Before serving, bake in centre of preheated 350°F (180°C) on a baking sheet until warm and cheese is melted. Cut into small bites.

Caprese salad
Take advantage of (and use up) in-season tomatoes by keeping Caprese Salad fixings in the fridge. Store slices of tomato and buffalo-style mozzarella or even slices of feta. Just before serving, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with torn fresh basil leaves and pepper.
