Hugh, 43, recently opened up about his and wife Deborra-Lee Furness’ painful experience of infertility and their “destined” journey toward adopting their son Oscar, 11, and daughter Ava, 6. “From the moment we started the adoption process,” Hugh said, “all the anxiety went away. I don’t think of them as adopted — they’re our children.”

I agree utterly. I only wish it wasn't so laborious a process. I know backgrounds and capability are vitally important for the well being of all involved, particularly the child, but I do wish agencies would bear the child in mind a little more than a form and figure. These children need and want homes, we should be pro-actively helping not slowing the process.
