Mickey Mouse knows what he's talking about. Check out this round-up of the best life advice from your favourite cartoon characters.

Just keep swimming! Cartoon characters give the best life advice

Sometimes life gets tough. It hands you lemons and you don't have sugar or water or cups or a jug, or even the tiniest smidgen of motivation to make lemonade. And that's when you have to put on your Dory fins and think "Just keep swimming."

Sometimes you lose people. Friends come and go, family feuds become catalysts for stress, and towels endlessly provoke you to pick them up and toss them in, so to speak. That's when you must sing (in your best Anna voice) that "Love is an open door."

And then, of course, there are the existential who-am-I-and-what-am-I-doing-here musings when every facet of your life is called into question. In the words of Elastigirl, you must remember "Your identity is your most valuable possession. Protect it."

Sometimes all we need is a little advice. Good, free advice. If you've watched cartoon movies and TV shows throughout your life, you'll know these fictional characters have all the advice we could ever need. Seriously.

Cartoons are insightful and know their sh**. Thankfully, a playground fixture company called AAA State of Play has created this terrific info-graphic showcasing some of the words of wisdom our television and movie cartoon pals have uttered over the years.

Which one is your favourite?
