This is a bit hard to write because Angelina Jolie’s weight loss, as you can see from the photo, is scary. Plus, isn’t a symptom of eating disorders specifically lying about what you’re eating, your motives for weight loss, and so forth? I mean, I know someone whose doctor told her to eat simple foods before a routine test, and she went and ate NOTHING but broth for two days.
But, indeed, if this is true, kudos to Angelina’s charitableness. But she is a mother of six children (ages 3 – 10) who do need her to be at her best. Who knows what to believe….
Oy, why did I go and write about this? Sighh. It’s all over the Internet and newsstands. So checkit.
A source for Us Weekly Magazine is saying Angelina (36) starves herself regularly, not for Hollywood roles, like many other actresses and models, but for her role as U.N. Goodwill ambassador.
According to the source, Angelina “puts herself on fasts to make statements for the children she visits…. She says, ‘If they can’t eat, I can’t eat.'”
The source says Angelina practices “different cleanses from around the world. It’s very dramatic, but that’s how she gets.”
Another source for the mag says Brad Pitt (47) is worried about Angelina’s health, “[He] has made her see a zillion doctors, but they keep telling her she’s fine.”
For more deets, check out the latest issue of Us Magazine, on stands tomorrow.
In the meantime, I don’t know what to think. The mother in me is saying, “What about your own six kids who need you both to parent them and to set an example.” On the other hand, I haven’t been to the places Angelina’s been and seen firsthand what she’s seen, so who am I to judge at all?
What do you think?
