Ooo, big baby news!
Grammy award-winning Latin singer-songwriter Shakira, 35, and her boyfriend, central defender for FC Barcelona, Gerard Piqué, have welcomed their first child — a boy!
The couple's reps announced the news on Shakira's official website, as follows:
We are happy to announce the birth of Milan Piqué Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqué, born January 22nd at 9:36pm, in Barcelona, Spain.
The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification.

The statement concluded by giving baby Milan's birth weight — around six pounds, six ounces — and with the hospital's statement that mom and baby are both "in excellent health."
