It's a girl for Chad Lowe! (Did Shrek hurt the name?)
Actor Chad Lowe and his wife have welcomed their second daughter. What do you think of the name? Did the movie *Shrek* hurt it or make it better?

Any Chad Lowe die-hards out there? He has quite the fan base since his days on Life Goes On (love!), and he's been a pretty hot item since his comeback on the hit show (which I don't watch) Pretty Little Liars.
Well, congrats are in order for the 44-year-old star and his wife, Kim Painter. They've welcomed their second daughter! Chad announced the baby's arrival on Twitter last Friday:
"It's a girl!!!" he wrote. "And she's as beautiful as her mommy (@iKimLowe) and big sister Mabel. We are blessed!"
And this just in from People Magazine, the baby's name is...
Fiona Hepler Lowe.
According to People, "Hepler" was Chad's late mother's maiden name and his famous brother Rob Lowe's middle name.
Not sure why they chose "Fiona." It's very pretty, but I can't help thinking of the movie Shrek.
DISCUSS: What do you think? Did Shrek hurt the name with their ogre princess, Fiona? Don't get me wrong, Fiona is my favourite princess and what a beautiful heroine for our little girls. But if a kid feels like picking on Fiona later on, will the name make it easy for them? What do you think?
Baby Fiona joins big sister Mabel, 3.5. Chad and Kim have been married since August 2010.
Congrats to the family!
Love!

@Abaigaelsmum Cute!! I asked my daughter on the way home for lunch what she thought of it, and she thinks it's a really pretty name. She would love the name herself! :)
@Nenette It may just be ME! And how fitting that your friend Fiona had auburn hair!

Our youngest was born 2 weeks after Shrek 3 was released. We had picked her name "Fiona" long before that but hadn't told anyone what her name was going to be. Everyone assumed we named her because of the movie but that all died down within the first 6 months and now no one refers to her name and the reference to Princess Fiona in the movie. Mostly because she already has a nickname and it's "the beast" which she lives up to VERY well. :)

To be honest, I didn't even think of Shrek at all! :) I have a few Fionas as friends. In fact, whenever I hear it, I always think of my good friend from Grade 8 with the beautiful auburn hair I always envied. :)
