Learn how to prepare delicious homemade baby food

When should babies add solid foods to their diet? Different generations and cultures have introduced first foods as early as two months and as late as one year. Today, though, all major health organizations, including the Canadian Paediatric Society, recommend starting solids at about six months.

Why? At six months, your baby will start to need an additional source of iron. Her digestive system will be ready to handle solids, and she’ll be able to play an active role in feeding, by reaching for what she likes and turning her head away when she’s full.
